I heard this on the radio today and thought, 'Wow, KBIQ must be really hard up for ad dollars to play this trash!'. The woman's voice on this is ridiculous. If people aren't careful, they could fall asleep at the wheel and crash. Doesn't it sound like she's talking to a room full of third graders and she thinks she has to speak verrrry slooowly and carefully so as not to startle anyone and to make sure nothing goes over our heads? It reminds me of the Paula Poundstone ads that showed up in the Springs when we had the big controversy a few years back about homosexuals wanting special rights. We voted down those special rights which were later illegally over turned in court because the presiding judge didn't understand the limits of his power.
The point? We didn't need Paula (who turned out to be a child abuser) telling us how to think then and we certainly don't need a 'grass roots' sponsored ad to tell us how to think and feel about Obama now.

Well, to answer the guys question, healers put people on the ground so they won't take a header into the floor when the holy spirit shows up. I think it was lame of the pastor to kick the guy in the stomach, but, why is the guy smiling if he is hurt? He may not be hurt, but healed. I did go to a conference once where this guy was saying you don't have to yell and carry on like a crazy person to heal people or cast out demons, etc. It does bother me sometimes when people get all worked up when praying over someone, especially if I'm trying to hear from the Lord. It's a tad distracting.

Dear Sister in Christ Stacy,

Let not your heart be troubled! Jesus told us that "in this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! For I have overcome the world."

Those people better not come over to my blog. They would most likely end up bursting a blood vessel in hatred and anger after reading my most recent post!

They want to be nasty? So be it.

The truth hurts those who reject it.

Jesus said he "came to testify to the truth." Those who are under deception and refuse to acknowledge their sins, confess and repent of them, and invite Jesus Christ into their hearts as Lord and Savior will not recognize the genuine, agape love being shared by Christians.

Unfortunately, gay activists often lump all Christians into the typical stereotype of the Phelps cult. The HUGE difference is that Phelps & gang spread another kind of lie - that there is no hope for salvation for the homosexual.

To the contrary, Christ had compassion for the sinner (you and I included!). Eliminating the fact that all can be forgiven (like Phelps does) is heresy and "preaching another gospel."

The fact that mercy is given and grace is offered to EVERYONE who repents - no matter what they did in their lives - is the entire purpose of Christ's death and resurrection.

What secular gay activists don't understand is that those Christians who may "think" they are being loving, tolerant, un-bigoted and accepting of their sin are, in fact, making Christ's death and resurrection meaningless. If we cannot point a hurting individual to the REAL love, mercy, and grace through repentance and the forgiveness of sin through Christ; then we are not sharing the true gospel message! We must show people that the illumination of their sinful behavior (the bad news) is good and the true gospel message overcomes lies, deception and evil.

Why?

Because only Jesus can rescue them from that which separates them from their loving God!

Didn't intend to write such a long comment!

Be encouraged Stacy!

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

In Jesus,
Christine

Rebecca De Mornay wasn't in Fatal Attraction, it was Glen Close, and normal, rational people never think being compared to someone who is evil is compliment. See how you call light dark and dark light? Bitter sweet and sweet bitter? Christians are accustomed to homosexuals, among other extremist groups, not giving them the same rights to freedom of speech they demand for themselves. Stacy tells you what you don't want to hear, so you childishly call her names. She doesn't call you names but points out the truth and you call HER a hater.
Keep up the good fight Stacy, you have more supporters than you kow and especially, the One who counts the most!

I've read all of the emails posted on Jeremy's site and I hardly think Jeremy's goal was to "garner sympathy for himself and to play the eternal victim. (Note: This is the homosexual activist’s ace of spades -VICTIMHOOD)"

If you go back and read them, objectively, you just might see how childish and petty you appear. In fact you come across as totally unhinged. As far as your picture...who really cares how old you look. What matters is that you sound like a 13 year old girl with an "I know you are but what am I" attitude. How do you expect anyone to take you seriously?

“If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.”

You're kidding with that right?

I've been reading this so-called christian blog for a while now and have rarely, if ever, heard you "say " anything nice about gay people.

And posting his bio...just petty and childish.

This saddens and sickens me. One thing people outside the church do not realize, is that no everyone in a position of authority in a church is a Christian. The enemy infiltrates at all levels. All that peopl are going to focus on is that he was a minister. Yes, he had the title, but not the heart. Not the commitment. He wasn't sold out to the Lord. Perhaps if more churches preached against sin instead of the acceptance of sin, the frequency of these sorts of incidents would decrease.

The very same thing happened here in Colorado. We voted against special rights for gays and the supreme court over ruled it which technically, they have no right to do. So my question is, if someone defies an illegal ruling made by the supreme court, are breaking or upholding the law?
Also, Boston legal was very good the other day a week or two ago. One of the characters went off on the supreme court. I was practically cheering!

And yet nothing is being mentioned about the human and religious rights abuses going on in China, oh, that's right, we have too many manufacturing contracts with them and too many corporations would suffer financially if there were to be an embargo of China and products sold in America had to be manufactured in America. I guess it's only ok for Bush to talk about human rights violations if it's a country we don't have close financial ties to.

Hello again. I felt I needed to correct something you wrote since you were generalizing Christians. Christians know (or at least they should) that in our religion there is a Trinity and that Trinity is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. We do not, and should not, think that God's name is Jesus. God is God and Jesus is Jesus and though they are the same, they are no the same, I know, confusing. When we end a prayer in Jesus' name, it means God's Son, not God Himself. We are referring to the power in Jesus name and that He is our Saviour, our connection and go between to God. Example;'I ask these things in Jesus name'. There is a great deal of power in Jesus name (I'm not saying there isn't with God but go with me here) which is why people against God and the Trinity try so hard to remove the name of Jesus from everything they do. They call upon the universe as if the creation has more power than the creator which we all know is not true. We need to stop being so politically correct and, say the name of Jesus. He is the only One who saves.

I'm quite surprised at Wells Fargo's 'neutral' and 'unbiased' stance on homosexuality. I remember seeing, when I worked there,an email from the San Francisco office, describing the contributions Wells Fargo was/had made to the annual gay pride parade, including having the Wells Fargo stage coach in the parade. So, while Wells Fargo sends out seemingly politically correct and neutral propaganda regarding sensitive issues, their money and their most recognized symbols speak volumes about where they really stand on such issues. I'll bet you donuts to dollars they would never have their stage coach in a parade of marching Christians.

Here is a quote form an article in 2005
'Michelle Scales, director of Wells Fargo's division of "diverse growth segments," ticked off a list of attributes that make the gay and lesbian market a natural fit for the bank, which is backing various pride events in the United States.'

Atheists, agnostics, Jews and Muslims all give more per head and more as a percentage of their income than Christians. Gay men and lesbians give more, per head and percentage of income.

The majority of Christian charitable giving goes to churches, church buildings and to pay the pastors. Only a small percentage goes directly to the needy.

Go and look it up (Pew Research is a good start.)

Smugness has always been a unpleasant flavour in a blog. I think you should repair this entry so that the nasty taste doesn't spread around!

I have to tell you what happened today. I belong to this weight loss site. Haven't lost much weight but I've met some nice people there and it's fun. One lady sent out a mass email just to say, 'hi' to everyone, tell us how she is doing and to see how we are all doing. One lady who responded is a Christian and told the first lady some things that were going on in her life, really heart touching and of course, she mentions God. This other (third party) pagan lady gets all upset about the fact that the Christian lady had dared to mention God in a mass email without making sure it would not offend each and every person on the list or conflict with their beliefs. The other Christians on the list weren't having any of it and said so in many email responses, most of which focused on her deleting future offending emails instead of trying to silence the sender. Yes, there were some, even one Christian, who thought that it was wrong for the Christian lady to have sent such and email,(whatever!) but they were out numbered, 2-10 and our numbers are growing. It was so exciting to see the silent majority not being so silent! The message to those who try to oppress us is clear. We are not going to take it anymore!

I was hoping that they would invite a real Christian to get into the discussion and that they would allow the Truth to be heard. I am a Christian and signed up to do this book club thing because I feel alot of immature Christians are going to be distracted by his words. He said his book just wanted to be born, I say God has someone out there, maybe you, who can respond with a Biblical view on this book. thanks Wendy

When will you be appearing on Oprah? And I wouldn't recommend the newest MAC (the thinnest one) as you have to send in the whole thing to have the battery replaced which means whomever works on it will have access to everything in your computer.

I am so excited you are doing this. Oprah does mislead people in many areas that will eventually effect their salvation. I went to Amazon to read an excerpt from A New Earth. What a bunch of nonsense! I blogged about it on my website, www.melissabishop.com but I'm an unknown so it doesn't carry much weight. I hope you're contributions to this discussion will bring light into this dark area. It is unfortunate, but many people do not really understand what is means to be a Christian and this has much to do with the church relaxing its views and where it stands on important life and salvation altering topics. There is a difference. There is only one way to heaven. We're not doing any body any favors by watering down the facts.

Good Job Stacey
God has opened a door. I pray for wisdom and understanding. I Know the enemy seeks to deceive us. I remember what it says in Galations 1:6,7,8,9,10,11, 12
6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ
Enough said. I know Christ is the only voice I want to hear and his Revelations.I Pray for anyone who receives anything " spiritual" any other way but from the HolySpirit.
Jesus said, IN JOHN 10:27"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me".
lISTEN TO HIS VOICE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Stacy,

I appreciate your review and dedication to the truth. Christians need to unite and provide a truthful, loving and Godly answer to the New Age message of Eckhart Tolle. His attempt to legitimize his message by using the teachings of Jesus is a ploy used by many deceivers in the past.

We need to pray and lift up Jesus as the only answer to this generations search for answers.

Great review, Stacy. It's clear to me that this is a New Age religion. And frankly that's nothing new as Satan has been deluding man with the whole "awakened" lie since Adam and Eve.

The only purpose of the whole "open mindedness" is to open those who would be duped by such falsehood to the controlling forces of demons.

It is so easy to spot lies and false teaching when one knows the teachings of God's Word, the Bible. Good work Stacy!

It is those who are ignorant of what the Bible clearly teaches who will, unfortunately, be led astray by reprobate theology and New Age "spirituality."

The truth in the Bible exposes Oprah and her New Age gurus and heresy.

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon told us that "there is nothing new under the sun." The false religions in that day attempted to corrupt true faith in the God of the Bible. Today, false religions are still attempting to corrupt the True Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told us to watch for the signs of the end of the age. The signs are coming at us at an alarming rate!!

The book of Jude is the last epistle in the Bible. It is placed just before the book of Revelation for a reason. It serves as a warning for true believers to watch out that no one deceives us!

It is interesting to note that Jude begins his epistle with the intention of writing to the recipients about their common salvation.

Then, he abruptly changes his plans. He is led, by the Holy Spirit of God, to write about something else. He wrote, "...I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."

Jude found it necessary to contend earnestly for the faith! To whom? To the saints - those who belong to Jesus Christ.

Notice the terminology. Was this any kind of "new revelation?" No! We are told to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

There is nothing new under the sun to add to the true gospel of Christ - or, the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

This illustrates the errors, falsehood, heresy, and apostasy being sold to the public by Oprah and her various guru false teachers!

"Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:" (Ephesians 2:2)

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” (2 Corinthians 11:4)

Don't be fooled people!

Read Jude and be forewarned!

Oprah was raised baptist, and she loves to mix in the Bible to gain Christian women. She is new age, and she probably thinks she is a god (consciencely or unconsciencely, no pun intended!). She is exactly what Jesus spoke about when he said there will be many that say they are the Christ. And that many will be deceived. This book is exactly meant for that. Good job on the follow up and I hope many begin to realize what she's up to. How sad that millions around the world are jumping on the bandwagon.

"Larry" what I find funny about your response is this...

First, you can't stand by your new age teachings as a "Christian" openly and publically because you fail to use your real name. So anonymous commentary is meaningless.

Second, your hissyfit above just shows you lack discernment and that you are asleep to the truth not me.

Third, if you want to share your new age ideas, feel free to start your own blog.

First I'd like to say a few (no actually a ton of) words to Larry. It's true that one should not throw out the baby with the bath water. I'm not sure I see that in what Stacy wrote here (I'll address that later). But, when I read your commentary, it made me wonder what you were talking about. I used to be a big Tolle fan (Power of Now seemed more honest to me, though I still didn't agree with all of it). But in a New Earth Tolle is more clearly misusing the teachings of Jesus. It seems almost just a way to get Christians to listen to his shtick and shtick a lot of it is. I'm glad it helped you, but the bath water is very confusing for many and may actually lead to being worse off later on after experience proves or disproves this way of living.

My first problem with Tolle's message is with the idea that Jesus is just like the Buddha. For many of us, this is plainly not true. Jesus did not sit in meditation for years to then discover that he has access to "The Christ" within. His is Christ. If you didn't catch this, read A New Earth again with an eye for it, you will see it. Here is an example of this:

"The Truth is inseparable from who you you are. Yes, you are [are is italicized in the print] the Truth. If you look for it elsewhere, you will be deceived every time. The very Being that you are is Truth. Jesus tried to convey that when he said 'I am the way and the truth of life." These words uttered by Jesus are one of the most powerful pointers to the Truth, if understood correctly. If misinterpreted, however, they become a great obstacle. Jesus speaks of the innermost I Am, the essence identity of every man and woman, every life form, in fact. He speaks of the life that you are. Some Christian mystics have called it the Christ within . . . . "

This is not so terribly apparently out of tune with Jesus' message at first glance, but if you look closely, you'll see the distortion (or if you prefer Tolle's opinion/belief!) I can't see Jesus being so terribly happy to see us talk about ourselves as if we were the Truth. Jesus is the Truth. I am not the Truth. Does the Truth reside within me, walk beside me, carry me in times of need? Absolutely, but I am not the I AM.

I would never go so far to accuse Tolle of being a devil in disguise because I read him as self delusional like the rest of us and the spirit of his message appears well-intentioned. However, his philosophy comes really close to what I understand was the mistake of Lucifer himself. That is to say that there is no God because we each can be the complete determiner of our own destiny, we each ARE GOD.

This is completely out of tune with Jesus' teaching. It couldn't be further from what he says. God is our Father. This is not a Christian distortion of what Jesus says as Tolle would like to have us think. Jesus uses the term Father to describe God's relationship to us for some really good reasons. One of the reasons is so we don't get carried away and think that we ARE the Father. We are the children. We are some really confused, ignorant, creative, learning, well loved children.

Don't let Tolle confuse you in this way. Jesus is Truth, God incarnate. The Buddha is not, I am not, and you are not. God is within you, but you are not He. There is an essential underlying arrogance in the belief that we are in essence actually God. This to me unveils the truth about Tolle's own ego.

Second, as you said, he is not a Christian, but he speaks as if he is an authority on Jesus' teachings. Wouldn't that make him a Christian? Isn't that what he claims the Christian Churches mistakenly did, set themselves up as the authority on Jesus? What is Tolle pointing to? What did you find that was so in line with Jesus' message? I found very little. For instance, nowhere does Tolle talk about loving others as Jesus commanded us to "Love your neighbor . . . ." In fact, Tolle talks about love very little. Jesus did a lot.

You may have nearly destroyed your life while believing that Jesus is Lord, but you would hardly continue down the path of self-destruction in your life if you looked to understand and live by (this is the hard part!) His teachings a little bit more each day.

By the way, you are NOT broken. You are just learning like the rest of us. Jesus did not implore us to let go of our egos and our beliefs, he asked us to grow in faith. What does that mean? It means to be of service to each other. It means to learn to love one more of your fellows each day that you can. It means to learn not to be so selfish that you can't see another’s point of view. It means that being right is not always what's most important. I send my best wishes to you in hopes that your life is waking up in true peace. If Tolle is a part of that, great, but do beware of the bath water and there’s more of it than you might think. :)

Stacy, sorry to run away with my lengthy comments here, I hope you don't mind. You may or may not agree with what I've said to Larry, but I felt compelled to say it to him so I hope it doesn't clash too much with your idea of true teaching and end up in the deleted bin. If it does, so be it, you are the master of your blog. :)

The only thing I wanted to say about your post is that I think in this case Tolle means to say that we shouldn't worry when he says Jesus says we should learn how to live from flowers. He just doesn't explain that very well. Tolle means that Jesus' message about how to live is free from worry. He just left out the "free from worry" part.

Smiles.

First I’d like to say a few (no actually a ton of) words to Larry. It’s true that one should not throw out the baby with the bath water. I’m not sure I see that in what Stacy wrote here (I’ll address that later). But, when I read your commentary, it made me wonder what you were talking about. I used to be a big Tolle fan (Power of Now seemed more honest to me, though I still didn’t agree with all of it). But in a New Earth Tolle is more clearly misusing the teachings of Jesus. It seems almost just a way to get Christians to listen to his shtick and shtick a lot of it is. I’m glad it helped you, but the bath water is very confusing for many and may actually lead to being worse off later on after experience proves or disproves this way of living.

My first problem with Tolle’s message is with the idea that Jesus is just like the Buddha. For many of us, this is plainly not true. Jesus did not sit in meditation for years to then discover that he has access to “The Christ” within. His is Christ. If you didn’t catch this, read A New Earth again with an eye for it, you will see it. Here is an example of this:

“The Truth is inseparable from who you you are. Yes, you are [are is italicized in the print] the Truth. If you look for it elsewhere, you will be deceived every time. The very Being that you are is Truth. Jesus tried to convey that when he said ‘I am the way and the truth of life.” These words uttered by Jesus are one of the most powerful pointers to the Truth, if understood correctly. If misinterpreted, however, they become a great obstacle. Jesus speaks of the innermost I Am, the essence identity of every man and woman, every life form, in fact. He speaks of the life that you are. Some Christian mystics have called it the Christ within . . . . “

This is not so terribly apparently out of tune with Jesus’ message at first glance, but if you look closely, you’ll see the distortion (or if you prefer Tolle’s opinion/belief!) I can’t see Jesus being so terribly happy to see us talk about ourselves as if we were the Truth.

This is completely out of tune with Jesus’ teaching. It couldn’t be further from what he says. God is our Father. This is not a Christian distortion of what Jesus says as Tolle would like to have us think. Jesus uses the term Father to describe God’s relationship to us for some really good reasons. One of the reasons is so we don’t get carried away and think that we ARE the Father. We are the children. We are some really confused, ignorant, creative, learning, well loved children.

Don’t let Tolle confuse you in this way. Jesus is Truth, God incarnate. The Buddha is not, I am not, and you are not. God is within you, but you are not He. There is an essential underlying arrogance in the belief that we are in essence actually God. This to me unveils the truth about Tolle’s own ego.

Thanks for your commentary. It certainly is interesting, but obviously unbiblical. Since it's my blog, I will continue to examine the New Age teachings of Tolle and bring the truth of Christ to the readers of this blog.

Please do not toss the baby with the bath water. It is sure that Mr. Tolle is NOT a Christian. However, someone once said to me, "Larry, you've got to chew the meat and spit the bones." That said -- there is meat in what Tolle has written. There are PLENTY of bones as well.

Please do a couple things here:

1) Read the ENTIRE book BEFORE giving your review here.

2) Read for BOTH the meat and the bones. Keep the meat and spit the bones.

3) Read without predisposition, bias or offense. Just READ! Then chew, spit, digest and come back here to share.

I will point this out as well: The language and words that Tolle uses are many things. It is NOT Christian, it IS somewhat or largely "New Age", but -- the words are pointers. See where they point.

For instance: What does he mean by the word "Ego" and what corresponding words are in scripture? What does he mean by the phrase "Pain Body" and what corresponding words are used in scripture?

Consider some of what Tolle says from later chapters and chew, spit, digest, reflect and share.

For instance: Page 93 of the "Role Playing" chapter, Tolle says, "If you are aware enough, aware enough, to be able to observe how you interact with other people, you may detect subtle changes in your speech, attitude, and behaviour depending on the person you are interacting with."

What does he mean? What is he talking about? How does it fit with his major thesis and theme? What is he pointing at inside himself and inside us? Does any of it line up with what Jesus said and did, how he lived and behaved, what he taught and exemplified?

I have been a Christian since 1983. I believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Jesus IS God ("I Am"). Jesus IS Lord of All, King of Kings and Master over All. Yet, even believing this I blew apart my family, ended a marriage in divorce, spent months in jail and nearly destroyed my life. I am NOT alone. There are plenty of "Christians" out there who are living lies, shame, guilt, sin and lusts. They are both out in the open and deeply hidden. It is words (not all -- but some) coming from people like Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie and Thomas Sandberg and others that have helped me to SEE the reality of HOW I am broken. I implore to you read what Tolle has written with your apparent and seeming prejudgements, biases and such. I invite you to be inclusive and unifying in your words and living instead of utterly divisive and attacking.

Peace be to you in Jesus Christ, Lord, Saviour, Master and I AM!

Oprah was on in my house today and my sister and I both turned our heads and looked when a woman was "quoting" the bible. and Talking about very biblical principles. After that the rest of the conversation concerned us because the bible was being associated with things that were incredibly inaccurate. I really like what you are doing and hope to fallow along. I think its so important for us to be able to align what the bible says with that the world is thinking. Have you found any Christian websites (other than this one)that address the book? I was looking and haven't seen anything! Im excited to dig in more in depth! :)

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your clarifications. Let me just say this though, I don't think what you wrote was a verbal bomb, I just used that term to describe how it felt to me when I read the article and based on previous media coverage on Huck. And like I said, considering how liberal you are, you did a pretty good job being objective. I appreciate that.

Hi Stacy,

Glad you liked the article. Just to respond to some of your points:

--According to my notes, you said "if there was one thing I could change about this campaign, it would be that [the country music]." I agree it was jocularly put, but the point was made earnestly. It's true you didn't, verbatim, refer to them as "themes", though I didn't put that in quotations.

--I don't write the headlines, but I do know that our editor (who does write the headlines) was not intending to suggest that only Huckabee visits Newport Beach for fund-raisers -- that would be kind of ridiculous, I agree. He meant it was an "ATM" for all candidates; it's a joke he's made in other headlines as well.

--I don't think that "criticism" necessarily denotes vitriolic denunciations. I would say your post above is critical of what I wrote in the Pilot, though hardly a verbal bomb.

Thanks for the nod, however. Nice meeting you at the event.

Did you know that Planned Parenthood is proudly announcing that 60 percent of Americans support Roe (http://www.planetwire.org/files.fcgi/7630Roev.WadeResearch_Findings.pdf).

The problem is, America doesn’t know Roe….

The Roe IQ Test, created by Focus on the Family, Alliance Defend Fund, Concerned Women for America, and Family Research Council, is a 12-question quiz designed to gauge what the country knows about the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

More than 40,000 test-takers have taken the Roe IQ Test (http://www.roeiqtest.com/ui/), and most of them flunked (http://www.citizenlink.org/CLNews/A000006308.cfm), earning an average score of only 58 percent. What makes this more striking is that polling indicates that the more people understand Roe, the less likely they are to support it.

January 22—marked the 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling. Many of the people who will vote in this year’s presidential election weren’t even alive when the ruling was handed down. Isn’t it time that we refreshed our collective memory about this decision that has enabled the premature deaths of tens of millions of children?

Why am I not surprised that this sexual innuendo conversation occurred at this conference and made you feel uncomfortable?

In one word?

Compromise.

Just this one incident should awaken all true Christians. The Bible tells us, "all who have ears to hear let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches." Stacy, I suggest that you should be very wary of this "Rethink" conference.

There are several more posts about the heresy dangers of this conference at that blog. The above links will get you started in having a discerning eye.

This portion from the "Rethinking Culture" link pretty much sums it up quite well:

Perhaps that is why everyone needs to "rethink" things. Warren Smith writes in his article posted today that

"in his latest book, "Don't Throw Away Tomorrow: Living God's Dream for Your Life," Schuller eagerly writes about the virtue of compromise. In this book, that bears New Age leader Gerald Jampolsky's endorsement on the back cover, Schuller states, "We need to learn the healing quality of wise compromise." He further states, "Perhaps the only way to deal with contradictions is to combine them creatively and produce something new. That's ingenious compromise." Whether Schuller knows it or not, he just presented the recipe for a New World Religion."

Just how far will the evangelical church go in its "compromises" with this "rethink" agenda? Just how far will its leaders go to build bridges, coalition and partner with the New Age leaders who also want to build a kingdom on earth for peace?

The Truth:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD." (Isaiah 55:8)

God bless you for taking the initiative to attend the conference and report on it!

In one word?

Compromise.

Just this one incident should awaken all true Christians. The Bible tells us, “all who have ears to hear let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Stacy, I suggest that you should be very wary of this “Rethink” conference.

Several years ago God woke me up in the night and said, “Pray for Britney Spears.” I thought, “What? Did I hear that correctly? She has everything going for her! What should I pray for her about? I never thought of Britney at all. I was not following her career.” I will have to admit I was not very faithful to this call. I shot up a quick prayer then and maybe even another when I heard her name mentioned. But, I was not faithful to regular pray for the young star.

I should have learned from past things that God has revealed to me and I guess my self absorbtion or how should I put this… We do not see the big picture that God sees but sometimes we or at least I- process things through my earthly eyes and forget I see only a tiny section of the map. Well, that is neither here nor there. So, I am praying for her now. Daily. Better late than never.

It is easy to be reminded to pray for Britney because you just turn on the morning news and there is some member of the Spears family getting in trouble. This morning she was taken to the hospital and appeared to be smiling in the ambulance. When I saw this clip; I had a new thought. If Britney’s new album has sold more than any of her past albums, the people around her may not be really trying to help her because this type of behavior has spurred on her sales to a new level. What if they do not really care about the destruction of her as a person? And what about those precious boys?

I wish Britney knew that God loves her so much that He spoke to me and possibly others years ahead because it grieves Him for her to go through this! The God of The Universe cares so deeply for her. I am sure she feels people love her because of who she is and how they can benefit from a relationship with her. But, God loves her just because she is His child. I have actually really grown to love her by praying for her everyday. (As I mentioned before I was not following her career or really into her before this calling.) I believe your heart really opens up and embraces a person when you pray for them.

I know through prayer she will move ahead and get through this and I can replace her prayers with prayers for another. I have learned from my mistakes ( I hope) and plan to be more faithful when called to pray for the next person God loves and is concerned about.

I would really love to send Britney, the Princess of Pop, a copy of Princess Bubble. Princess Bubble learns true happiness comes from within and I think Britney needs to be reminded of this. But, I have no idea where to send a book. So, I will just continue to pray and hope others will join me.
