Jeff Bezos Apologizes for Removing 1984 from the Kindle

If you missed all the controversy over Jeff Bezos from Amazon.com regarding how they deleted the book 1984 from all of their Kindle owners Kindles, well, all you need to know now is that he has apologized. Click here to see it on Amazon.com

And if you’re so inclined call Obama and tell him he could take a lesson from Bezos on how to apologize :)

Jeffrey P. Bezos says:
This is an apology for the way we previously handled illegally sold copies of 1984 and other novels on Kindle. Our “solution” to the problem was stupid, thoughtless, and painfully out of line with our principles. It is wholly self-inflicted, and we deserve the criticism we’ve received. We will use the scar tissue from this painful mistake to help make better decisions going forward, ones that match our mission.

With deep apology to our customers,

Jeff Bezos

In our half hour interview we discussed his recent book Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design which I have found to be a fascinating read.
