Dr. James Dobson Will Be Voted into the Radio Hall of Fame!

Focus on the Family
The Focus on the Family ministry was founded in the mid-1970s by Dr. James Dobson, a psychologist, lecturer, and author. Following a television appearance in 1978, Dobson recorded his first radio program calling for a return to conservative, Christian values. The internationally syndicated show has been on the air ever since and is heard on over 4,000 stations worldwide.
As a former employee of Focus on the Family I am absolutely THRILLED that Dr. Dobson won this contest and will be voted into the Radio Hall of Fame this November, but there are some others who aren’t that happy about the nomination.
Take Wayne Besen, homosexual activist and founder of Truth Wins Out, not only did Wayne protest Dr. Dobson being on the ballot, but now that Dr. Dobson has won, Besen plans to protest at the banquet where Dr. Dobson is being sworn in.
My question is whatever happened to being a gracious loser?
Well, Wayne can throw his fit, but the facts are that the PEOPLE voted Dr. Dobson in. It wasn’t the media elite, it wasn’t radio managers, it wasn’t the press, it was the PEOPLE who voted Dr. Dobson in, so Wayne considers every single person that voted for Dr. Dobson to be a right wing extremist, dishonest, hatemongering ideologue, shameful and bigoted person. Afterall, that is what Besen says of Dobson. Sad isn’t it.
Well, Dr. Dobson, I along with the millions that voted for you, Congratulate you and Focus on the Family. You deserve the nomination and we thank God for your faithfulness in defending His principles and the family.
