Taking A Turn in 2008

by Stacy L. Harp

Over the past few months I have been on a journey of biblical proportions. Okay, maybe not quite that big, but none the less it’s been an interesting journey. And as I’ve thought about the direction of this blog and where I would like it to go in 2008 I have come to the conclusion that I am going to be changing the direction of this blog. For the last few years, I’ve spent a lot of time blogging about politics, the homosexual agenda, the problem of abortion and divorce, pedophiles and many other social ills – that impact both the Church and our nation and next year I believe the focus will be different. I may at times blog about these important issues, but I think it won’t be nearly as much as I feel a prompting to deal with more spiritual issues and biblical issues.

I will be spending a lot of time telling you about new products, interviewing authors and others in the media. I expect it to be a fun year where I can share with you many interesting things, and also have numerous GIVEAWAYS and CONTESTS.

In fact, beginning in January I am very happy to share that I will have numerous different types of bibles to give away through a contest I will be having through this blog. I will announce the rules of the contest later, but let me whet your appetite for what the bibles are. Check this out…

The first bible I will be giving away is the brand new Archaeological Study bible which has over 2000 pages and a ton of great historical as well as archaeological evidence. And it is retailed at $49.99 plus tax, so this will be a great prize to win.

And of course, I ‘d like to thank my good friends at Zondervan Publishing for providing the bibles for this contest.

We will also be giving away a few new NIV Study bibles, the NIV Life Application Study Bible and one of my favorite and most exciting bibles to give away will be the brand new and best selling The Bible Experience audio Old and New Testament.

So next year will be a fun year here at Active Christian Media, and I hope you will come by often and join in the fun.

Merry Christmas!

The Nerve of President Bush and His Christmas Message

This just in…from the President of the United States regarding Christmas.

Presidential Message: Christmas 2007

“But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High…his kingdom will never end.’”

Luke 1:30-33

During the Christmas season, our thoughts turn to the source of joy and hope born in a humble manger on a holy night more than 2,000 years ago. Each year, Christians everywhere celebrate this single life that changed the world and continues to change hearts today. The simple and inspiring story of the birth of Jesus fills our souls with gratitude for the many blessings in our lives and promises that God’s purpose is justice and His plan is peace.

At this special time of year, we give thanks for Christ’s message of love and mercy, and we are reminded of our responsibility to serve. America is blessed to have fine citizens who reach out with a compassionate hand to help brothers and sisters in need. We also remember our brave men and women in uniform who have volunteered to defend us in distant lands. Many of those who have answered the call of duty will spend Christmas far from home and separated from family. We honor their sacrifice, ask God to watch over them and their families, and pray for their safe return.

Christmas is a time to rejoice and remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Laura and I pray your Christmas will be blessed with family and fellowship, and we wish you a day of glad tidings. Merry Christmas.

The Nerve of Mike Huckabee!

The last few weeks have been very busy for me, so I haven’t had much time to really blog, but I had to post this wonderful video simply because it is driving some liberal conspiracy theorists nuts. And this is just another reason I am supporting Mike Huckabee for the Presidency because if he has the courage to say Merry Christmas, then he has the courage to face our enemies. Go Huck!
