Blury Comment Confirmation Codes

by Stacy L. Harp on May 10, 2007

Okay, so this morning I was over at my friends blog Life is a Buffet and in order to post my comment I had to verify my comment by typing the blury code that appeared in a box. And it took me 3 tries before I got it right…

But here’s the thing…who is the wise guy who decided to make these comment confirmation codes BLURY? What’s the deal with this?

Imagine with me for a moment…what if every time we needed to confirm something we had to do it by reading something blury? What if you had to confirm that your vision isn’t good by confirming that you see things blury without your glasses and you did the best you could to read that eye chart and then they said….”Hey, now you have to read this thing here and confirm that what you read was already blury.”

Augh.

And what exactly is the point of making these comment confirmation codes BLURY in the first place? If the whole reason we have these confirmation things is so we can confirm we are not a computer what is the brilliant mind behind this blury mess trying to prove ….that you can trick a computer by making the text blury! Seriously…how stupid is that!

You and I both know that if a computer could read in the first place this whole thing would make sense. So there’s only one conclusion I can come to concerning this whole blury comment code confirmation thing.

The guy who created it…and it had to be a guy…and probably the same guy who created bras, nylons, and highheels, the guy who created this must have taken off his glasses.

What? What did YOU think I was going to say…
