Cancer Is Not Republican or Democratic
I haven’t been blogging much the last couple of days because I’ve been very busy with work and also concerned about a friend of mine who has cancer. And as most of you know Tony Snow and Elizabeth Edwards are also both struggling with their cancer issues. And so I would ask you to pray for them when you spend time in prayer.
Anyone who has ever known anyone personally who has ever had cancer and/or died from cancer, realizes that this is a very ugly disease. It not only affects the person with the cancer, but also their whole family.
Some people are fortunate to overcome their cancer and others die from it. Either way, it’s a real trial and it’s not a Republican or Democratic disease - it’s an equal opportunity offender.
However, what is truly amazing to me is that those people I know who have had cancer have really dealt with it in a good manner. I saw my mom at her happiest when she had it, and I saw this friend of mine who is getting weaker by the day really draw near to the Lord as a result.
And I think the reason why cancer can be a blessing, is because it makes a person think about what is most important in life. Maybe the rest of us could get a clue before we are hit with this deadly disease.
