Yesterday I had the opportunity to interview a woman who has made a huge difference in the lives of many Christian women, and they do not even know it. The lady I’m referring to is Lisa Harper.

Lisa is a breath of fresh air and lives where the air is fresh in Tennessee. She was the mastermind behind Focus on the Family’s former women conferences called Renewing the Heart. She has blessed hundreds of thousands of women as she has opened the Word of God and taught them precious truth from the Scripture.

Lisa is also a wonderful author and has written over 6 books. Her latest three books are Holding Out for a Hero about the books of Hebrews, What Every Girl Wants about the Song of Solomon and Tough Love, Tender Mercies about the books of Hosea, Zephaniah, and Malachi.

Lisa is also extremely funny. She delivers her messages with warmth, spirit and a lot of wit. If you want to hear some of her great speaking you can hear a few messages over at the Ambassador website.

Please take a few minutes to listen to our interview first, by clicking here. And to whet your appetite even more you can read the cover story about Lisa on the Today’s Christian Woman website. The article is What Every Girl Wants.

Blue Monday: Not Because of 4400 Babies Being Aborted Everyday

Unless you follow history or read websites that tell the truth about what is happening in the country, you are probably not aware that today is the 34th anniversary of the most awful court decision in American history. The passing of Roe V. Wade. Remember this is the ruling that has allowed preborn babies to be murdered in her mother’s womb legally.

Yet, today there are a number of stories running in the mainstream media that are saying nothing about the events today. Those prolife marches that are taking place all over the USA, or even the fact that President George W. Bush addressed the March for Life event that has taken place on the Mall in DC.

No, instead what you’ll read are articles like one on CBS.com titled It’s Blue Monday: The Unhappiest Day of the Year which mentions not one word about abortion.

In an email I received from Katie Couric that previews her show tonight there is not one mention of the anniversary of Roe V. Wade or the March for Life. However, she did talk about the violence in Iraq continuing. Why not the violence against preborn babies? Couric also talks about Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she is running for President, and yet there is not a mention anywhere that Hillary has a 100% rating with the National Organization for Women regarding the support of murdering preborn babies. Chelsey is one lucky girl with that rating!

And speaking of Hillary she will be starting her “conversation” with America tonight but how much do you want to bet that she will not support pro-life people. Yeah, she’s not the woman I want President.

Free Speech Wins with Bennett Amendment

Great news today from the Nation’s Capitol! Free Speech for Conservatives won the day today as S1 was passed with the Bennett amendment. The following is a press release from The Family Research Council.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Friday praised the 55-43 victory of the Bennett Amendment which protects the free speech rights of Americans by keeping open communication with groups that act as watchdogs of government.

“It’s astounding that 43 senators voted against allowing groups to inform their constituents about what they’re up to with our tax dollars,” said Perkins. “On the other hand, maybe not.”

“The amendment offered by Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT) stripped the so-called ‘grassroots lobbying’ provision (Section 220) from the Lobbying Transparency and Accountability Act. The alleged reform was more about silencing groups such as Family Research Council who communicate with the grassroots, than it was providing ‘transparency’ for Congress.

“It doesn’t show much faith in our citizens to shut down information about their own government,” said Perkins. “Rather than stripping away our First Amendment right to free speech, lobbying reform should address the unethical actions of high paid lobbyists such as Jack Abromoff whose illegal use of Indian gambling money to influence Congress prompted this whole debate.

“The fact that Indian gambling money is not even addressed in the bill is astonishing,” Perkins added. “Apparently, the new majority is refusing to follow the arrows that lead to true reform. The good news is that citizens have shown that they are willing to circle the wagons in defense of their right to know and speak about what Congress is doing.

“I thank the bi-partisan coalition led by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT) for beating back this direct attack on our free speech. The right of citizens to be informed and involved may be safe for now. However, we can expect further assaults on free speech as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and the liberal majority seek to silence any opposition.”
