New NRB Staff Appointment

This week, NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright announced the appointment of Mr. Craig Parshall as NRB’s Senior Vice President & General Counsel. Reporting directly to the president, Craig assumes responsibility for directing NRB’s overall communication efforts, including constituent communications, publications, Internet resources and media relations, as well as providing strategic communications support for the membership, convention, and government relations divisions. In his capacity as NRB General Counsel, he will also manage legal matters involving the Association.

This is a remarkable turn of events for Craig. In joining NRB’s executive staff team, he leaves a distinguished legal career, having participated in six cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Speaking of this new career direction and the opportunity to serve NRB members, Craig says:

"I am honored and thrilled to be part of this great organization. I have always considered NRB to be the pre-eminent leader in keeping the channels of electronic media open and accessible to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while also stimulating broadcasters and media ministries to even greater levels of creativity, excellence, and spiritual impact. I look forward eagerly to my new role in that critical mission."

Giving the sense of the NRB Executive Committee, Chairman Dr. Ron Harris commented: "The quality, expertise, visibility, and credibility of Craig Parshall bring much to the position. I can see great things happening as a result of this addition to the NRB executive staff."

When making the announcement of this new appointment, Dr. Frank Wright stated: " Craig brings an exceptional background in communications, media relations, and public policy to NRB. Not only will his evident communication skills strengthen our overall communication efforts, but by agreeing to serve as NRB’s general counsel, Craig brings his legal expertise to bear on matters of importance to NRB and its membership. With Craig’s background, skills and stellar reputation, he makes an outstanding addition to an already talented staff team."

Pictures of Christians Who Have Been Persecuted by Muslims">Pictures of Christians Who Have Been Persecuted by Muslims

Today when I was doing my normal blogging for the persecution blog that I write for, these pictures were part of what I wrote about.  Christians in America, WAKE UP, militant MUSLIMS want to KILL You because of your faith in Christ.  In fact, almost everywhere else in the world Christians are part of the persecuted church.  Consider these pictures and captions seriously.

The following pictures are from VOM Media and are pictures of the Christians mentioned in the previous post.  I want you to look at these precious saints and remember them in prayer, and also remember that there is a militant enemy in the Muslim world that wants to kill you if you follow Christ.  This is just a tidbit of visual evidence.

Kimmiecuteness_1Everyone has something in life that always makes them smile.  For me, it’s this precious kitten I named Kimmie, and also people who are bravehearts who stand for what is good, right and just.

So with that in mind I want to begin sharing with you the people that I consider the heroes and heroines of our day.  Some of those people may not be as well known as others, but be forewarned because they are people with influence and who have dedicated their lives to making a difference for the kingdom of righteousness and justice.

Some consider these people to be really scary, so they claim that they are part of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy".  Hmm, I wonder who would say something like that?

In the following days I will begin short profiles of these heroes and heroines and hopefully we will also get an audio interview with these great people as well.

Tomorrow, I’ll begin by explaining what exactly the "religious right" and why all of you out there need to join our ranks, and begin making a difference for eternal purposes and not just things here in the moment.

And do me a favor, if you have a specific hero you’d like to see me profile, email me or leave me a comment below.

Now go and smile…

Earlier today I had the distinct privilege to talk to one of America’s heroes for men, women and children.  Dr. Janice Crouse is a Senior Fellow at The Beverly La Haye Institute which is part of the great think tank at Concerned Women for America.  Dr. Crouse has been on the frontlines for years defending and and raising awareness concerning the sex trafficking of men, women and children.  This is modern day slavery of our day.

Dr. Crouse joined me to talk about this weekends extraordinary first International Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for the Victims of Sex Trafficking.

This is one of the most important events of our lifetime and I want you to join in and take action.

Special Prayer for Sex Trafficking Victims">Special Prayer for Sex Trafficking Victims

This is a special post I’m cross-posting here from the VOM Persecution blog.

Cwalogo
Today I wanted to share with you a very special prayer assignment that I came across this morning as I was going through all of my email.  All last week I was on vacation in Washington DC and I have to tell you that it is great to be back…but now we have to catch up.

Concerned Women for America is spearheading a very special prayer effort on behalf of those victims of sex trafficking and I want you to know about it.  The reason we’re bringing it up on this persecution blog is because these women and children and sometimes men, are the victims of religious persecutors throughout the world.  This is a HUGE issue and it’s a wonderful thing that people are finally waking up to the tragedy of this.

The following is from the Concerned Women for America website.

The first International Day of Prayer for Sex Trafficking Victims is September 29-October 1. Dr Janice Crouse, Senior Fellow of the Beverly LaHaye Institute has more on this important time of prayer, and how you and your church can participate. Click here to listen.

HOW YOU CAN HELP IN THE WAR AGAINST SEX TRAFFICKING

Let’s unleash the most powerful fighter, defender of the oppressed, champion of good
and enemy of evil. Pray to God daily for the abolition of modern-day slavery.

Pray for the victims
. Pray that they will have a hedge of protection around them,
one less client to service that hour or day, be spared a beating or a rape, feel God’s
love and presence and experience hope that their rescue is imminent, and they will be
freed and their lives restored, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Pray for President Bush, the senators and representatives, and for nongovernmental
organizations working to abolish slavery.
Pray that they will continue
to fight the good fight, have the resources to continue the fight, be successful in
their efforts and in getting their message out to every person in every nation and will
influence governments to do what is right and to punish traffickers, pimps and johns.

Pray for the State Department’s Trafficking in Persons’ office.
Pray that the staff
will be encouraged to continue their hard work compiling information about trafficking
problems and efforts to eradicate it in nations around the globe. Pray also that
their efforts to hold these nations accountable will bear fruit.

Pray for those who use slaves, be it sexual or labor
. Pray that they will be caught
and convicted of their crime, acknowledge their sin, repent and turn their desires
from evil and toward good. That instead of benefiting from the enslavement of another
human being, they would rescue and restore the enslaved.

Pray for the pimps and the traffickers.
Pray that they will be convicted of their
crimes, punished and held accountable, be convicted in their heart and soul of their
sin, and repent, use their knowledge of the trafficking trade to expose and destroy it
and they would use their ill-gotten gain to make restitution to the enslaved.

Pray for the partners working with Dr. Janice Crouse, Senior Fellow of the Beverly
LaHaye Institute,
on Concerned Women for America’s Crossing the Bridge
Project in Mexico. There are five non governmental organizations working in Mexico
to raise awareness about this issue, influence legislation and build a shelter to
help 12 rescued girls. This project is made possible by grant number S-INLEC-05-
GR-0003 from the U.S. State Department.
