The Blessing of Operation Blessing

by Stacy L. Harp on August 29, 2006

Pat_robertsonToday is the first year anniversary of the disaster we all know as Katrina, and this morning on The 700 Club did some special news coverage on the progress that has been made in New Orleans.  I was especially touched by the list that Pat Robertson read to us viewers concerning the work his ministry Operation Blessing has done in the last  year.

Here is what he read on the air, and I think it’s amazing what GOD’S PEOPLE are doing.  This is an OVERVIEW, not EVERYTHING they have done.  Keep that in mind as you read this amazing list.

Provided 278 fast cash grants totaling 4.7 million dollars to 220 faith based organizations

Delivered 291 truckloads , 11.3 millions pounds of food and supplies

Served 880,000 hot meals to residents and volunteers from  the Operation Blessing kitchens

Donated over 118,000 volunteer hours

Have a free dental clinic in St. Bernard Parrish

Have a free medical clinic in New Orleans East

Treated over 8000 patients, filled nearly 16,000 prescriptions, given 600 immunizations for hepatitis A, B and tetanus

Delivered over a million and 300,000  pounds of lumber and building supplies and given 23 million dollars worth of medicine to LSU’s health care system for Katrina victims

Treated 4300 swimming pools to get rid of mosquito larva, in order to stop disease.

Amazing isn’t it?   I think so.  But this is what can be done and is being done by the ministry that Pat Robertson started years ago.  The Lord has definitely blessed the work of this man’s hands, and every person who has so generously donated to help those in need.

Compared to the living and striving and glorifying Church of Jesus Christ, the One True God, no other organization, club, community or person has ever done more.  This is the Love of God working through His people and no one else.

Why would anyone not want to serve Christ?
