Statue of Billy Graham Dedicated">Statue of Billy Graham Dedicated

This morning one of the top stories on the Baptist Press News website concerns a statue of Billy Graham that the Southern Baptist’s have now dedicated. The statue will stand on the LifeWay Christian Resources complex and the SBC Building in Nashville, Tennessee.

I’m sure anyone who loves the ministry of Dr. Billy Graham will love the statue that is made in honor of the ministry the Lord has blessed.

Comedy on a Mission">Comedy on a Mission

Sunday night I had the opportunity to visit a local church where they were having a guest comedian for the evening service. Since I enjoy laughing, I thought I’d attend, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The comic was Lamont Bonman, who appeared as the Rev. Monty B. Sharpton, a distant relative of the Rev. Al Sharpton. Appearing decked out with a wig and flamboyant suit, Monty spent and hour making the audience laugh at material that covered politics, the diet industry, and religious issues.

Bonman also did a number of magic tricks while having guests in the audience use the “Hebrew magic word” “Boom Shakalaka Boom”.

The most impacting part of Bonman’s presentation was near the end when he boldly proclaimed his deliverance from the cult of the Watchtower, The Jehovah’s Witnesses and also drugs, pornography and weed addiction. He pulled no punches concerning sin and the need for repentance and was unapologetic for what Jesus has done in his life.

For more information on Bonman and his organization Eternal Praises Productions, please visit www.comedyonamission.com where you can read his biography and see samples of his comedy.

One of my favorite blogging authors is Terry Whalin who writes one of the best writing blogs online at his beautifully designed site The Writing Life.

Yesterday Terry wrote about the Book Expo Cast website that I think is very worthy of your time.

One podcast that you may want to listen to, especially if you’re interested in podcasting, is The Best Way to Leverage Podcasting. One of the authors of the book Podcasting for Dummies offers his expertise on the subject.

Heard Any Good Books Lately?">Heard Any Good Books Lately?

Christianity Today online has a nice story today concerning the growth of audio books and the Christian publishing world. In case you’re like me and you don’t always have the time to actually read certain books, I’ve found that Audible.com is a great way to start. In the last few months I’ve listened to three different books because I was able to download them straight to my iPod.

Janet Folger’s awesome book The Criminalization of Christianity was by far one of the best books I’ve ever heard. Another great book was Under God by Toby Mac & Michael Tait. In fact, Under God has two different books and the authors read both of them.

The financial gain of companies is astounding, and yet at the same time it is encouraging to note that people still enjoy the written word, even if it is being read.

What books have you listened to, please leave us your feedback. I’m always looking for a really great book.
