I do not support the signing of the movie petition against the movie The Davinci Code. I believe that in some cases the more attention a thing is given, the more curiosity it generates. When that happens, people naturally want to satisfy that curiosity by investigating the source for themselves. Perhaps all of this hubbub over the movie has caused some who may not have been interested before to decide to see it now that such a fuss has been made about it. I remember the fuss that the movie The Last Temptation of Christ created when it came out years ago. Did that fictional movie cause me to lose faith? No. Will the equally as fictional Davinci Code shake me? No.
It is make believe. Why are we as Christians adding fuel to the fire of something that isn’t even real? We should be focusing our efforts elsewhere. If people lose faith over this movie, I think they may have been looking for a reason not to believe in God all a long and the movie is just giving them a source to blame for not believing. Something else would have eventually shaken them if not the movie. Your faith is there irregardless of what hollyweird turns out for people to view.
As Christians, instead of trying to ban the movie or boycott, bone up on the bible and be ready to answer questions. The best thing we can do is to be ready with the gospel with love and kindness.
