Bloggers Have the Power to Stop Google from Taking Over the World">Bloggers Have the Power to Stop Google from Taking Over the World

Has anyone else noticed that Google seems to want to take over the world? I think if anyone should note this important occurrence it should be bloggers. This is why I am specifically writing this for you, bloggers, and you alone. So if you are not a blogger, you can stop reading this right now.

Bloggers are the real people in this world. Bloggers tell the truth. Bloggers stand for what is right, including believing that child predators should be deleted from Google’s Blogger. Bloggers are actually a pretty powerful group. Bloggers rule the world of the Internet. In fact, I believe if you were to compare the number of blog sites to actual media and news sites, there would easily be more blog sites. Bloggers are very important and very influential, especially when they want to be.

Bloggers are what made Google’s popular email Gmail mail a success, although the numbers still show that Gmail users are still way below Yahoo or Hotmail. I learned about Gmail from other bloggers and nowhere else. I will also stop using Gmail shortly because I do not like many of the features and it’s rather annoying.

Bloggers admit to using Google’s search engine to do the majority of their surfing. And Bloggers are the ones who first noticed Google maps.

So with that knowledge, Bloggers have the power to make or break Google’s next attempt at taking over the world. Just released April 13, 2006, Google’s attempt at a Calendar, a web style calendar to be precise.

According to an article in Business Week Online, Google is pinning their hopes on their new calendar. Business Week Online reports, “Early indications are promising. Several analysts who have tried the product believe Google (GOOG) may be on to something. Google Calendar differs from most other online calendar services because it lets users publish and share the information, as well as overlay events from other calendars.”

Time will tell. I haven’t found most of what Google puts out very good. Their Google talk isn’t nearly as good as Skype. Google groups is extremely annoying because of how they require you log in and then stop you from adding your complete mailing lists, even though you already had approval from everyone. The Google Toolbar feature is really annoying and in my case, I still can’t get rid of the error code that comes up on my computer, even though I’ve uninstalled the feature.

The bottom line is that Google isn’t as great as they may appear to be. While they are the world’s largest search engine, I think that that Google has gotten a little to big for their britches. This blogger will be sure to let other bloggers know of better resources outside of Google, because morally Google is bankrupt, and their products aren’t close to being as good as Microsoft.
