I'm w/ creative dude and faithmouse on this one. just to add--

As a homeschooler, I am soooo in the camp of "don't deny freedoms unless you're ready to lose your own." BUT---This isn't a freedom issue. Google and blogs and web servers are private companies. If they want my business they will meet my terms. Period. Boycotts are good. I'd be willing to use one of the other search engines/blogs instead of google to help make a point. i would refuse to read blogs posted on those services that refuse to take down bad blogs-- and make it very public why i was refusing to do so and WHOM i would support.
Even if Google doesn't suffer for my little boycott, then at least it will HELP whomever else i choose to use. Put your mouse where your mouth is ;-)

[...] There are several admitted pedophiles who use both Blogger and Wordpress. In April 2006, Stacy L. Harp - a marriage and family therapist intern tried to convince Google to drop a website from its popular, free blog host blogspot that promotes “boy love.”  Fox News interviewed Stacy concerning the fact that Google refuses to take down these pedophile blogs. She was unsuccessful in getting them removed despite her best efforts. If you would like to see the five minute long segmant it can be seen at “Stacy Discusses Pedophiles Using Google’s Blogger on Fox News.” Law enforcement officers state that there is nothing that they can do about these boy/girl love blogs, because they’ve not broken any laws.
I’ve had first hand experience dealing with blogger and I applaud you. There is a blog on blogger that is filled with libel comments against me. Blogger refuses to remove the blog and has informed me that they do not remove blogs though their terms state that they do. I wish you all the success in the world in getting these blogs removed. We need more people like you in this world.

Stacy I applaud you. I have had first hand experience dealing with blogger and I’m seriously considering moving my blog from blogger. There is a blog that has several libel comments posted about me and blogger has informed me that they do not remove blogs. I wish you all the best in getting these blogs removed. I pray something can be done. Society needs more people like you.

Congratulations! You couldn't have found a more worthy subject to be recognized for, and to help bring to light.

I can't equate the right to express one's religious beliefs with the right to find child sexual victims. There are certain types of behavior, such as solicitation for murder, which aren't protected under the first amendment and shouldn't be. Children can't make informed decisions regarding free expression, which is why they are a protected class.

Google is a private business, and has the right to drop any site they find objectionable. They can kick away any business they don't want to their own detriment, but child predators shouldn't have a place to hide, anywhere. There are jails for people abetting child predation, and possibly huge civil judgments for those enabling child rapists and murderers. Googhle has the same legal responsiblity as any landlord not to rent to a destructive and dangerous tenant.

You expressed yourself very well on Fox today, Stacy. I agree with you 100% regarding the criminality of pedophilia. In fact, we devoted our interview segment during our podcasts this week to William H. Kennedy, the author of Lucifer's Lodge, an expose of Satanic Ritual Abuse within the Roman Catholic Church.

However.

We must apply what I call "The Hillary Test" to any potential restriction of liberties: Would you want the power you propose to use for good in Hillary Clinton's hands?

While you and I agree that pedophiles must be stopped from inflicting harm on children, you know very well that an awful lot of people out there find what you and I write to be pretty objectionable, too. Should Google ban our sites for promoting "hate speech", or inciting people to harm, say, homosexuals or Muslims?

I know that isn't what we propose, but you know all too well that's what many people think. As much as it pains me to agree with liberals on this issue, I don't want some kid at Google HQ deciding whether my thoughts are socially acceptable.

Leave myself not much room to tell others what to do. Freedom is precious enough that we have to be careful about restricting others rights. However this is not an issue of adults rights but one of childrens rights being violated.

A child cannot consent. To advocate sex between an adult and a child is to argue for evil. Thank you for being alert and speaking out on this. I have not much doubt that someone will be offended. All of the rest of us will give you a more honest title.
