The Jerusalem Prayer Team has designed a petition that will take you less than one minute to sign. So if you believe allowing a homosexual pride parade is a good thing in Jerusalem, don’t sign it. On the other hand, if you’re a God fearing, bible believing and following Christian and realize this is an abomination in the making. Sign it, and tell a friend.

About a week ago I received a pretty vile email from a homosexual activist saying things that I can’t repeat here. Not only was I able to track that he was a prominent male gay activist who participates and organizes Gay Day’s but I was able to track the email he sent me from his work computer.

Given just that one experience I’ve had, one cannot even begin to imagine what a sexually deviant predator can do to your child. Tonight MSNBC reaired their outstanding series To Catch A Predator III and even though I’ve seen this episode before, it never ceases to amaze me how angry I feel while watching and after watching. I hope all who viewed the episode feel the same way.

To date, it seems that child predators haven’t been glorified in our society. Most people do not see them as victims, but as vile perverts - sick individuals, and people who are the scum of the earth. That said, you need to know that these predators want your child.

I know from my experience as a marriage and family therapist, and also as an activist on behalf of traditional values, that there are people out there who will use the Internet to stalk, and prey on children. Some of these men are homosexuals who prey on young boys, and others are heterosexuals who prey on young girls. Both are equally sick, and both need to be held accountable.

If I had my way, every single sexual deviant predator would be sentenced to death, because Jesus, Himself has said, “… but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matt. 18:6)(Mark 9:42)(Luke 17:2) Note that this was repeated in three of the four gospels. I think Jesus was serious, and I think we need to be serious about the protection of our children, our nation’s children and the children of the world.

Make no mistake, you’re child is naive. Predators know how to groom your child, and they know when to pounce. Even after they are caught, they return to their vomit of child molestation, assault, and deceit. These are wicked, wicked people.

Some of these predators are fat, some are old, some are young, some are paper thin. Some are sitting in your church pew right next to you. And even more unsettling some are youth pastors, kindergarden through high school teachers and your child day care provider.

So what can you do as a parent, or as a normal person who would like to protect your children from online predators? Here are a few simple steps.

1. Never EVER have a webcam on your computer. Predators have lured many an unsuspecting child into the world of online child pornography. There is never a reason for your child or you to have a webcam.

2. Become very familar with Internet safety sites such as I-Safe, Wired Safety, and Perverted Justice, and the FBI’s site.

3. I would recommend reading Rebecca Hagelin’s book Home Invasion as she explains how the Internet is being used to lure your children, and why parents need to be parents.

4. Talk to your children and teens about what they are doing online, and NEVER allow them a computer with Internet access in their bedrooms. All computers with Internet access need to be in an open space where you can watch what they are doing.

5. Monitor your children’s friends and other places they may go to be online.

6. Find out what your school is doing to help protect your child while they are online at school.

7. Limit the time your children spend online to 1 hour a day, or longer if they truly need to be online doing research for school.

8. Make sure you know all of your children’s screen names, and passwords. You are the parent, and have a right to know all information your child and teen are giving away online.

9. Use software that tracks your child’s Internet activity. Bsafe Online is one of the most effective internet filtering systems.

10. Simply care and be involved in your children’s lives, so that they do not feel the need to be online for their social interaction.

Predators are seeking their prey, like a roaring lion - they are seeking whom they can devour and destroy. It is your job to protect those babes because no one else is going to.

Never be ashamed of asking for help if you’ve found yourself in a situation where you do not know what to do. Ignorance is not an excuse for you allowing your child to be preyed upon. If you do not understand computers and how they work, take a class. If you’re a parent who says my child knows more than I do, change that!

If you are a Christian, you have a mandate to protect those children. Now you have no excuse.

Now is the time to act, because tomorrow may be too late. Predators never rest, and they constantly think of ways to come after their prey. Be wise, and do the same with the children you love.

Have you ever read the passage of scripture that says man makes his plans, but the Lord directs his steps? Well, this morning when I woke up I had every intention of going to this conference, but I had this overwhelming sense not to go. A few things were not setting right with me.

Yesterday my place to stay fell through, and a few other things that I won’t go into here. Let’s just say, that I’m not going, and I will do my best to let you know where you can get good information about what really happens at the conference.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering my homeostasis has not been thrown off too much

For the next couple of days I will be at the Vision America Conference: The War on Christians & the Values Voter in 2006 and I am totally excited.

Every day I will be blogging about the event, posting pictures and possibly offering some audio commentary. My husband will be manning the mic over at my daily Active Christian Media podcast, so you will get firsthand what is on his mind. You will definitely want to tune in and tell a friend.

This is a pretty small conference, I was told between 200-300 people may be attending, so I’m hoping because of the size I might be able to talk to some of the speakers during breaks. Time will tell.
