One of the highlights of the press conference was hearing directly from Rev. Herb Lusk. After hearing him preach powerfully this morning it was quite a contrast to hear the soft spoken preacher address the press.
Rev. Lusk said that Greater Exodus Baptist Church has "moral authority" which is why they are participating in Justice Sunday III.
He also said that he is "following the dictates of my Lord…it’s about Jesus, and I’m trying to serve Him the best I can." Lusk played for the Philadelphia Eagles and eventually went into the ministry and he declared that "I mean (the people of this city) no harm, but justice."
I also asked him about his sermon earlier today where he mentioned a distruption in the service. Apparently the story is that a protestor interrupted the worship service talking about the separation of church and state, so they "laid hands on him and promptly removed him" from the service.
