The Supreme Court Decision

It is all over the news today, The Supreme Court has given us a split decision on whether or not the Ten Commandments can be posted in public.

In light of today’s decisions, I’d highly recommend the following books for your reading pleasure and edification.

Runaway Bride Gets Book Deal

Only in America….

The Book Blog at Readers Read
has reported this story:

Jennifer Wilbanks, the bride who ran away just before the wedding and falsely claimed she had been kidnapped, has landed a deal for a book and movie rights. The book deal what made by Judith Regan for ReganBooks. The book deal alone would have made headlines but a leaked memo that mentions a $500,000 payment and TV movie deal related to an appearance on NBC’s Today Show with Katie Couric has created a media controversy.

USA Today reports that NBC has denied offering payment for an interview:
A leaked ReganMedia memo linked the interview to potential TV movie deals and mentioned a $500,000 payment. The company confirmed an employee wrote the memo but noted that it wasn’t signed and wouldn’t confirm details of the arrangement.

Both Regan and NBC denied any quid pro quo or money changing hands. NBC said that there’s no TV movie deal attached and that Couric and her producers simply outhustled others to get Wilbanks.

I reveal and you think what you want :)

Saddam Novel to Be Published

We knew it would happen sooner or later, and truly it has. A novel written by Saddam Hussein is about to be published by the evildoers family. Here’s part of the description from The Hollywood Reporter.

AMMAN, Jordan — Saddam Hussein’s family will publish next week a novel written by the ousted Iraqi leader before the U.S.-led war, his daughter said Friday.

“Get Out, Damned One” tells the story of a man called Ezekiel who plots to overthrow a town’s sheik but is defeated in his quest by the sheik’s daughter and an Arab warrior.

The story is apparently a metaphor for a Zionist-Christian plot against Arabs and Muslims. Ezekiel is meant to symbolize the Jews.

This should be an interesting read, but I wonder how smart it is to help this guy make money. See the rest at Hollywood Reporter

Must Reading: War Letters

Today I became informed about a wonderful site called War Letters which is part of the new Legacy Project.

What is the Legacy Project?  I’m glad you asked.

The Legacy Project is a project that was formed so that we the people could remember the history of our country, through times of war, through the letters that the soldiers and families at home wrote to one another.

Author, Andrew Carroll has written a great new book called  War Letters: Extraordinary Correspondence from American Wars.  You will want to get this book.

And if you really love to read you will also like his other very popular books too.
