Lennie Jarratt is The Reviewer of the Week

Congratulations! Please visit Cross Blogging

Listen to Lennie Now!

I have a passion for politics, faith and of computers. Blogging gives me a chance to combine all 3 at once.

I have a wonderful wife and 2 lovely daughters, ages 7 and 10. We are home-schoolers who live north of Chicago, Illinois. Home schooling is a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work. I would still recommend it though.

I started blogging back in Sept. The site started on a Linux box in my basement. Yes, I am a geek. Early this year I had to move the site to a hosting service.

I love reading. Thanks to Stacy I can now get free books to read and review.
It is a great idea and should get more popular as times goes on. It is very good personal marketing tool.

I try to read news from both the left and right. I am not a great debater even though I love to do it. My problem is that I am methodical about it, not off the cuff quick on my feet. I do enjoy a good debate though.

I have a weekly symposium for all those interested. I ask different questions each week. I have gotten really great responses from across the political and religious spectrum. Thanks to everyone who has answered the questions and stopped by my site. I am grateful to you all.

That’s about it for now. Ask more questions if you like. You can email me at lbj at xbip dot com.

Christianity Today Book Awards 2005

Christianity Today has published a list of their top book awards.

From their article…

This year we received 327 nominated titles from 52 publishers. CT staff selected the top five books in each category, and then panels of judges (one panel for each category) determined the winners. In the end, we honor 23 titles that bring understanding to people, events, and ideas that shape evangelical life, thought, and mission. We also include our judges comments on the winners.

Some of the winners are…

APOLOGETICS/EVANGELISM
The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God
Lee Strobel (Zondervan) Explores the arguments for the existence of a personal Creator granted to us by advances in physics, cosmology, astronomy, biology, biochemistry, and other sciences.
