Character Counts - How is Yours? by Greg Laurie

This is a great article by Pastor Greg Laurie - Click here to read.

Character counts. Integrity matters. What kind of character do you have? Are you a man or woman of personal integrity? The evangelist D. L. Moody once defined character as “What you are in the dark.” Humorist Will Rogers said, “So live that you wouldn’t mind selling your pet parrot to the town gossip.”

More Controversy Brewing Over Rick Warren’s Prayer

A few days ago I emailed Kay Warren to let her know that I was praying for her and Rick, since there is a militant faction of the Christian community that is simply offering up condemnation .

Well, I received a very nice note from Kay saying she appreciated the prayers and thanked me. And I want to encourage you all to pray for Rick Warren as he has the opportunity to pray in the name of Jesus and/or bow to the political pressure of not praying in His holy name.

We know that he is under a lot of pressure from those both inside the church and also outside the church, so rather than be a critic if you disagree with his theology, please pray for him to have the courage to stand and do the right thing.

Escape from Hamas - Tomorrow on Fox News

Tomorrow night on the Fox News Channel there will be a special called Escape from Hamas, which will highlight the son of a Hamas leader who came to Christ.

What better way to start the new year then to share with you a testimony of a son of a Hamas leader who has come to Christ and forsaken all to follow Him.

Today Fox News is reporting the story of Mosab Hassan Yousef, which also includes a video from August of 2008.

Yousef,
30, said he realized the true nature of Hamas and radical Islam during
a stint in an Israeli prison. He renounced his Muslim faith, left his
family behind in Ramallah and converted to Christianity.

“Islam
is not the word of God,” said Yousef. “If you want to be offended it’s
your problem. But you know something? Go study. Think for a second that
I might be right. So wake up, look at your path, see where you’re
going. Are you really going to heaven with 72 virgins after you kill
yourself and kill another 20 people?”

Yousef has
sought asylum in the United States and now attends an evangelical
Christian church on Barabbas Road in San Diego, Calif.
